Experience as Time-in-Game

Experience is an account attribute that is based on time in game. It is gained from any legitimate game play on any character in a given account, and every new character starts with the player's current account experience.

Experience is used primarily as a measure of seniority. It seldom has an operational role but rather functions as a reward to long standing players and as a way to settle arguments as to who has been playing the game longer.

Since players tend to value experience more as they gain it, a titling system based on time-in-game might be a good idea. Ranks could happen at yearly intervals, for example ... or on some larger pattern: e.g., one, two, five, and ten years.
